Dua Caffe on Dorset Street Upper feels like a relaxed checkpoint in the middle of Phibsborough’s urban buzz—perfect if you’re after a steady coffee and a simple, solid breakfast. The moment you step inside, there’s a calm atmosphere that seems to slow things down a notch compared to the surrounding city pace. Locals appear to use it as a spot for everything from casual brunches to quick coffee meet-ups, with the occasional stop before heading off to catch the bus just outside.

The decor leans into a retro vibe with wooden tables and a mix of mismatched chairs that give the space a comfortable, lived-in sense rather than anything too polished or trendy. It’s the sort of place where both solo visitors and small groups can settle in easily, whether on a chilly fall morning or a gentle spring afternoon.

Menu highlights like the Full Irish Breakfast, Eggs Florentine, and a variety of omelettes provide hearty options, while the coffee—ranging from classic cappuccinos to seasonal pumpkin spice lattes—draws attention for its good quality and thoughtful presentation. The focaccia sandwiches and house-made apple pie add some homely touches for those looking to pair something a little different with their brew.

The staff are friendly and attentive without being intrusive, which complements the relaxed feel. While the interior is mostly smoke-free, a faint scent from outside can occasionally drift in, reflecting the street-level café setting.

This place suits anyone looking for uncomplicated, well-prepared breakfast or brunch fare with a dependable coffee at hand. It’s particularly welcoming for people who appreciate a quieter corner for conversation or to unwind with a book. Given the bus stop right outside, it’s also a convenient spot to pause before heading elsewhere, making it popular among locals and visitors discovering the area.

Good food, good value for money. Great calm atmosphere and friendly staff. Only thing is the smell of smoke from the outside invading the inside area a little bit.

Good spot and nice place for coffee chats in town. Very photogenic place if you are looking for an Instagram friendly location. Tasty food, nice and friendly staff. You will get a cozy feel in a warm winter, soothing spring or in fall.

So happy I stopped in. I was hesitant because it was completely empty but the burrata prosciutto salad was amazing. As was my iced latte, although the plastic cup really killed the vibe. If I'm in the area again I'll be back just for that salad!

Hello from Albania and a capuccino lover . Take a look at my favorite breakfast at Dua CAFFE . I was there for vacation but Dua CAFFE, was this close to the place I was staying, so me and my familiare had breakfast almost everyday. Dua CAFFE feels like home, the staff is very polite, the place is clean and very well organized . I already know my perfect placeeee to Ireland , this time I will bring my students too.

I loved the decor extremely retro and loved the wooden tables and ambiance. Right up my street mixed matched chairs. We were heading to the airport and by chance stumbled upon this trying to find the bus stop (bus stop right outside the cafe). We had plant of time so decided to opt for coffee which was really delicious presented well to on these lovely wooden carved platters. Plenty of sugars too. We decided to have some food just a burger (priced matched the quality). Cheap and cheerful to fill out tummy’s for our fight. Small outdoor area. Cute little place. Will be back.

One of the most beautiful and cosiest cafés in town. If not the best. If you don't like cafe chains without the personal touch, this is what you have been looking for. Also nice breakfast for reasonable price.

This place is a gem in the inner city. The decor is fab, really retro and cool. The service is great and the food and coffee is delicious. It's really reasonably priced also. A must if you are on Dorset street.
